The Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine, is a public hospital. Funded by Sir Run Run Shaw, a renowned Hong Kong industrialist, and complemented by supporting investments from the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, the hospital integrates medical care, education, research, and social services as a comprehensive, Grade-III Class-A public hospital.
Officially operational since May 1994, the hospital comprises six major campuses: Qingchun, Qiandang, Shuangling, Aral, Grand Canal, and Shaoxing. It houses 71 administrative, medical, research, and teaching departments, along with 129 nursing units. The hospital has an approved bed capacity of 6,500, employs over 8,100 staff members, and boasts 41 doctoral programs and 47 master’s programs. Additionally, it is home to 223 faculty members serving as both master’s and doctoral supervisors, and features 29 clinical research laboratories.
On December 4, 2018, it was designated as one of the first pilot hospitals for multidisciplinary cancer treatment by the National Health Commission. On September 5, 2020, the hospital received the award for "Outstanding Case in National Smart Hospital Construction 2020." And on September 15, it was honored with the Zhejiang Provincial Government's 2019 Quality Management Innovation Award.
