Zhejiang University School of Medicine Affiliated Children's Hospital

The Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine, founded by the renowned Chinese pediatric expert Professor Li Yuhua, is a public Grade-III Class-A hospital. It ranks second nationwide among 2,112 Grade-III public hospitals (in the children's hospital category), while also claiming the top spot in China for both total research funding and the number of fourth-level surgical procedures performed.

The hospital originated from the "Zhejiang Provincial Maternal and Child Health Care Institute," established in 1951. It is Zhejiang Province's earliest and largest Grade-III Class-A comprehensive children's hospital. The hospital was founded by Professor Li Yuhua, a pioneering figure in China's pediatric medical field. Since 2019, Zhejiang University Children's Hospital has successfully been approved as the National Clinical Research Center for Child Health and Disease, as well as the National Children's Regional Medical Center—making it one of the first hospitals nationwide and the first in the Yangtze River Delta region to simultaneously host both national centers. This achievement marks Zhejiang Province's breakthrough in establishing its first-ever national-level pediatric center, and the hospital has also earned recognition as one of Zhejiang Province's "Top 10 Hospitals" in its inaugural year.
