Shanghai Clinical Research Center
The Shanghai Clinical Research Center is a research-oriented hospital approved by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and affiliated with the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission. It has been entrusted to ShanghaiTech University for construction and management. The center was officially inaugurated on April 29, 2021, and operates under a director-responsibility system guided by a board of directors. Built according to the standards of a Grade-III general hospital, the center focuses primarily on oncology and neurological disorders, while also dedicating itself to research in major diseases such as cardiovascular, respiratory, rheumatologic-immunologic, and sensory-system conditions. Initially, it will feature 500 beds—200 of which are designated for routine care, and 300 reserved for research purposes—with plans to expand capacity to 1,000 beds in the future.
